As we head into the weekend, I thought I’d give everyone a little food forthought.
We talk all the time about relationship marketing, and leading with value. But *HOW* do you do that? How do you start to get to know people, when the group is huge and you’re just words on a screen? By participating in discussions, asking questions, answering questions, and being part of a community.
My staff and I noticed that the Socialite Suite is HOPPIN’ lately. Like, insanely busy. Good busy. This tells me that people are engaged. Making connections. Having fun.
This group is big, and it can be hard to stand out. But let me assure you – when you comment and engage frequently, people will start to get to know you. *I* will get to know you. I might not comment on everything, but I read nearly everything in the Suite.
Don’t be a lurker. If you want to be someone who is known, referred, thought of when someone says “does anyone know someone who sells ______?” you need to come out to play. There are so many different posts in the Suite – business questions, relationship questions, fun and engaging posts and questions….. adding value is participating in those conversations. People will go peek at your profile – a little light stalking, we all do it.
So whether you come play in the Suite or in other groups you’re in, that is how you’re going to start meeting people and making connections. Positive, value-oriented engagement.
